Scott and I are creating the Disney shelf. Every week we try and win another Disney DVD on Ebay and so far we are doing pretty well. We’ve managed to build the collection up however the problems lies in not having enough time to watch them. Due to Scott’s work schedule and my Uni work, we end up watching dvd’s at like 2 in the mourning. Great at the time to watch movies in bed. But we don’t thank ourselves in the morning.
Friday was the St Matt’s Harry Potter Party an event I have been organizing for a month now and have been really excited for. Despite not having work till 4, I got in at two to start the decorations and by 7, St Matt’s looked the best its ever looked even if I do say so myself. The night was a roaring success with the bar taking the most it has all year. The Cocktails/ Potions were Delicious and I think everyone had a really good time. After St Matt’s was closed we went up to Frenchay which was holding its UV party where we continued to drink and met up with some of the Frenchay staff too for a really good night. As always we stayed till it closed and then staggered off into the night.
Thursday was UWESU’s AGM which is always eventful. Similar to last year The uwe exec ( excluding myself and Terri) did nothing to help improve the university and followed along with the crowd like a group of sheep. Disgusting. By the end of the meeting ( which finished early as students had to get buses etc) I was pretty worked up by idiocy of some of the participants and I sulked all the way home!
Had the best/ most stressful week of my year so far. Monday and Tuesday were pretty normal but Wednesday it started to get good. Kicking off with the National Demo 2012 in London, where people gathered together to protest mainly about education cuts but also voice the general issues with the British government. The walk started off good with high energy but after we passed Parliament the route became shit and the weather did too and by the time we reached our destination ( a soggy park in the middle of nowhere) Everyone was pretty angry. As the NUS speaker got up to talk he was greeted with verbal abuse from the crowd who felt that the route chosen by him was a waste of our voices as it lead us through a housing estate and to a field instead of anywhere we could actually be seen. In the end the crowd were so angry that they stormed the stage forcing his speech to be cut short. Probably for the best as he seemed to be digging him self a whole!
Have not written on this for absolutely ages! Now in my third and final year of Uni. It’s going great but I have fountains of work. All of it really interesting but takes up most of my time hence not writing on here for so long. I’m really looking forward to Halloween in a couple of week when I intend to get very drunk and dress up as something stupid. We have also got Zombie walk coming up which will be great! So far third year has been my favorite year by far.
I have done so much swimming this weekend in anticipation for my holiday. Which I cant wait to go on! 2 weeks in the south of France with all of my family. It’s going to be so good but perhaps a little stressful at times with so many younger cousins around all the time. Still I can’t wait to get out of England for a while as it is so rainy and boring!
